Sharlene Phillips (B.A. Fine Arts)
Sharlene has an EYE for detail.
Sharlene was born in Melbourne, Australia in the late 1960’s.
From as early as six years of age Sharlene Phillips showed an interest in the world of Art and Drawing. During her
Primary School years, Sharlene would always teach younger students how to draw people, dinosaurs and animals.
This early interest in Drawing continued through High School with Graphic Communication and Art as her major
subjects from year 7 until year 12. Sharlene exhibited her first collection of Bird Drawings at the H.S.C Art
Exhibition, 1986.
With over a thousand applicants each year and an aptitude Drawing examination Sharlene was accepted to
complete a three year Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Art at Victoria College in 1987. Sharlene studied DRAWING
as her major subject, as it covered all aspects of Figure, Studio, Structural and General drawing techniques. The
course also offered other subjects including Animation, Art History, Ceramics, Illustration, Photography, Painting,
Printmaking and Sculpture. Sharlene qualified for the Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) Degree with high credits in all
subjects and exhibited another collection of studio drawings at the Prahran Fine Art Graduate Show in 1990.
Sharlene also volunteered her spare time and talent to a local theatre production painting set backdrops and
often spent evenings attending Figure drawing classes at local Tafe Institutes and Galleries throughout Melbourne.
Sharlene was also awarded many prizes and awards including First Place for the Drawing Category at the
Dandenong Rotary Show for Art and Music in 1990.
Sharlene also specialises in Fine Photography of Australian Frogs, Equestrian, Landscapes, Animals and People.
All images on the OneEyedFrog website and Facebook pages are for sale as archival prints, photos, canvases,
greeting cards mounted frames or personally drawn portraits.
